Email this Video to a FriendA mid-winter follow-up journey over the border to Canada gives us the opportunity to get a lesson from master boatbuilder Harry Bryan on efficient sharpening of plane blades – how to keep them honed and always ready to make shavings. Sidestepping the many different sharpening systems on the market, it’s good to get advice from someone you can trust to do the job simply and inexpensively.

RON THWEATT says:
I am intrested in the seat he using..I can not stand to cook and looking for some kind of swing away seat in a galley kitchen.
Would love to see up close how he just was able to swing it out and set.

Joe Doyle says:
I agree with Peter. A tour of Harry’s shop and an overview of his tools is a must. That pedal-driven grinder is great. Was that a hand cranked drill press behind him?
Peter Brackenbury says:
Is there a boat builder’s schmee for Harry Bryan on the way? I would love to see more of his shop and his philosophy of boats and boatbuilding.
