Maarten Coeman says:
Hey Kees, ever since I saw the concept drawings and model of Loon on a doryman blogpost, the design struck a chord with me.
I’m from Belgium and think she would be perfect for Zeeland and the Schelde delta. And after this video she gets me wondering how she’d trailer to Friesland, Brittany, Denmark or the Med…
Are plans available for Loon?
Pieter Roos says:
If it ain’t Dutch, it ain’t much. Great interview and I wasn’t familiar with his work.
A fellow Dutchman,

Ted Zerrer says:
I really enjoyed this interview and video of Kees. So thoughtful and intentional. Loved the shop and the current project. Well done Kees and Off Center Harbour. Thanks!
Richard Johnson says:
Thank you so much for the very interesting interview with Mr. Prins. I’m relatively new to wooden boat building, but had the honor of an impromptu encounter with Kees in Port Townsend when he asked to tour the 1936 Berthon Gauntlet Syrinx I recently purchased and was preparing to move. I did not know who I was meeting at the time but his insights to the large restoration project we are just now venturing into were much appreciated. I featured a brief interview with Kees in this Episode on our YouTube Channels and apologized in the comments for misspelling of his name in the video. Amateur mistake on my part. ;-)

What an interesting man, thanks for the great video.
Rich Dodson says:
This is a wonderful interview with a wonderful human story behind it. And as always, Sam Devlin delivers a new design that warms my heart. I love his Banjo, Mug Wump, and Pamlico 32 designs and the shanty boat looks like a great “weekender”. Thanks Kees for introducing me to it. I look forward to learning more about the Townsend Tern in my next video to watch!
Scott barnaby says:
Fantastic story and video…….thanks to both Kees and OCH.
Bertram Levy says:
From my personal experience Kees always seems to have a more creative way to use space. A great asset to the Port Townsend boat community.
Kees Prins says:
Thanks Bertram.
John Wujack says:
More brilliance from Pt. Townsend. Thanks for sharing.
Larry Cheek says:
Just wondering … Are construction plans for the Townsend Tern available from Kees Prins?
Kees Prins says:
Larry, Complete construction plans are being worked on. I could send you a study plan if you contact me via above email.
Jonathan Lewis says:
As a beneficiary of the artistry and skill of Kees, I applaud your portrayal of this man from his windmill exploits in Holland to his current shanty boat construction in Port Townsend. Off Center Harbor once again demonstrates its ability to share with us the true essence of a craft and the emotion that accompanies it. Bravo to one and all.
Steve Sandahl says:
Again a very nice, high quality video by OCH, please keep up the great work guys and gals. Thank you Mr Prins for letting the rest of us view your shop and present project, a very nice looking Shanty Boat!
