Intriguing hull design on that boat. A double ender but with a perfectly straight bow and an extreme rake at the stern. She sails nicely. The old school workboat lug rig might be obsolete but it sure as hell works.

Any comments Steve on the hull form and the apparent slipperiness of the hull?

Beautiful boat and wonderful music. I too am wondering how this video was shot. It seems too steady for a drone and surely the prop noise would have drowned out the beautiful singing. I also couldn’t help noticing that the boat hails from Duoarnenez, the adopted home of Roger Barnes, author of The Dinghy Cruising Companion.

  • Richard Crockett says:

What a fine craft. Elegant and tough looking both at the same time!

I’d like to see her sails handled through various maneuvers with that crew all in action if that were possible? So many intriguing aspects to that rig!

  • Peter Buxton says:

    Gorgeous footage!
    She’s faster than I would have thought…

    • Peter Brackenbury says:

Looking forward to more from Douarnenez! Some of my favourite videos are these Slow August ones. Love the sounds as much as the sights. Beautiful!

  • Dave Dickmeyer says:

Nicely done guys! The music was a great touch. But, where are the sardines!? 😆😆😆

  • Robert Kunzig says:

Extraordinary footage! And the wing on wing, I’ve never seen it done that way before!
Seems as though it is drone footage or one heck of a pole… done to perfection – wonderful
