Miles Partridge says:
Cute Coot. Looks like a boat you would use if it was left in the water and quick to get underway from the dock at the bottom of the garden. I think I would want a quiet 4 stroke in a box so motor noise wasn’t intrusive. As others mentioned the accommodation would be good to see and I guess a 22ft version would still come in under the 3.5 tonne towing limit here in Aus for pickups.
David Rawls says:
L’l. Coot could be a hoot!! I too would like to see how interior is set up and could be used? Looks very interesting! Thanks so very much!
Floyd Graves says:
I’d love to see the interior and an on the water sailing video as well.
Chad Chaumont says:
Fantastic looking boat.
Wilfried Stroever says:
A really good looking boat. It might be the perfect cruiser for an elderly couple, like my wife and me at age 70. I can imagin cruising her in the Baltic Sea, my favourit playground. But I would certainly opt for a junk rig, because if you want or have to reef, it would be no fun to crawl on the foredeck.
Kenneth Jeffreys says:
70, elderly??
Al Strunk says:
I, too, would be interested in video of Lit’l Coot’s interior. Al Strunk
Robert Molesworth says:
I am curious about the interior. Perhaps the video could be edited to include views of the interior layout …..
Vance Scott says:
Lovely versatile design. Not often achieved.
I think that could get a following down here in Aus and NZ.
More so in New Zealand with its changeable weather.
‘Aotearoa’ …. Maori name for New Zealand, meaning ‘The land of the long white cloud’
Would be a good choice for top of the south Island , similar cool cruising area some what sheltered from the open sea.
Eigil Rothe says:
Great video. Hope to see a tour of one on the water and how it’s set up for glamping.
Neil Moomey says:
Great video! I have always admired Sam and his designs. More Devlin videos please.
Rob Roy says:
Can’t believe I missed this boat at the show. Always great to hear the designer talk about and explain the rationale behind design choices.
Erik Sayce says:
Great to see you at the show Rob. I’m glad we were able share a small part of the show that you missed.
William Boulden says:
Love the design. There is something to be said for a very practical compact boat just like this one.
David Jeffery says:
A more recent incarnation of this design is Devlin’s full-keel version, which is explained and shown on his site. That version may be better for some, but it looks considerably more difficult to launch and retrieve.
Erik Sayce says:
Love this boat! Out of all the boats I saw at the show this was at the top of my wish list…
Prescott Powers says:
Great boat choice!
I had seen the plans for this one in W.B. magazine, but had a hard time visualizing proportions and details. Great to see one built and hear Devlin’s explanation.
