Again, the sunrise brought a perfect day for the beginning of a new adventure. Her engines purring, KALMIA was as ready as were we. We hauled in our lines and gently pulled away from our slip. Ben and I joined Bob on the bridge and as he pointed KALMIA’s bow towards the southern sky, yesterday’s clouds reflected the promising rays ofa new September day. Pulling my sweater around my shoulders, I waved good-by to Newport and two years of good friends.
