The Beach Pea by Doug Hylan is a lapstrake plywood-planked version of a traditional peapod, but it is lighter and won’t dry out while ashore. The design has a lovely shape that’s easy to row in either direction. She’s another design that is hard to beat.

    Only four stars for rowing? I bet the Beach Pea will row as well as or better than any boat here.
