As a retired engineer, Ken's travels in Southeast Asia centered around a fascination with the variety of traditional wooden fishing boats whose long, unrecorded history seemed to be coming to an end.
Through a dozen years of 6-week motorbike trips, he obsessively catalogued as many types of boats, along with their uses and building techniques, as he could.
For yars, Ken worked diligently with a Vietnamese publishing house to create this beautiful book, but the complications of producing and distributing a book from across the globe, compounded by a global pandemic, meant his work remained hidden for several years.
