Description from Boat's Main Listing

For sale : 11’-6” lapstrake bright finished mahogany on oak rowboat/sailboat built in 1985 By Dexter boats, Old Say Brook, CT
It is a reproduction of a boat built in the 1930s. Dexter Boats were obviously built by talented wooden boat builders This is a rare and beautiful boat and receives compliments from all who see it. It rows easily and sails well in light to moderate winds. The two-piece wooden mast is conveniently stowed for travel. There are two rings on the transom which may have been used to carry the boat on davits. I rescued it from the side of the road and spent last winter restoring it with the help of a former Brooklin Boatyard craftsman. It needed two new strakes on either side of the keel replaced as it had been improperly stored on the trailer. It is now very solid and is ready for a new owner to enjoy it. There are 5 coats of Captains varnish on the hull, the bottom is painted with Kirby’s and the interior is coated with a mix of linseed oil, turpentine and pine tar. All of the hardware is bronze, the oarlocks are unique, and the blocks are wooden. It comes with: two Dacron sails made by Sperry Sails, one full size and the other about 3 feet shorter; a two-piece mast with all rigging, a pair of two-piece Shaw & Tenny oars, an older but still good trailer, and a new boat cover. $5300.00
