Description from Boat's Main Listing
The “E.E.Moore” is a beautiful example of a custom double cabin, centerboard sharpie schooner built to yacht standards and launched in 2012.
She was designed by John E. Swain from the lines drawn by Howard I. Chapelle from fishing boats in the Juan de Fuca Islands and included in his book “Small American Sailing Craft”. In the Fall of 2021, John changed the rig from a gaff main to a marconi main.
The bottom is 3 layers of 1/2″ plywood with 2 layers glass and epoxy, stainless fastening; the top sides are cedar planked, galvanized fastenings. Many of the different woods, fittings, hardware, parts etc. have been sourced and collected over John’s 55 years of professional boat building. Each has a story!
