Follow along with Peter Slack’s ongoing series about the restoration of COASTAL QUEEN, a Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat built in 1928 and modified in the late 1950s to a cruising yacht. The series follows the process from the bottom up, as a new keel, keelson and cross planking are needed to support this massive structure.

As the bottom patches are refit into the cross planking, plans are made to create bulkheads, and metal flooring to add strength for the engine, and the new addition of a Seakeeper Gyro.
