Follow along with Peter Slack’s ongoing series about the restoration of COASTAL QUEEN, a Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat built in 1928 and modified in the late 1950s to a cruising yacht. The series follows the process from the bottom up, as a new keel, keelson and cross planking are needed to support this massive structure.

Schell Custom Boatworks is featured again as they repair and finish two Abaco Dinghies believed to be built by Thomas Winer Malone. The sail has arrived from Appleton, Maine and Pete Schell prepares the 14ft Abaco Dinghy for it’s first sail in over 70 years.
With help from Mike Green we go back in time to visit master craftsman Thomas Winer Malone, and discover some of the magic that went into making these beautiful boats.
