Follow along with Peter Slack’s ongoing series about the restoration of COASTAL QUEEN, a Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat built in 1928 and modified in the late 1950s to a cruising yacht. The series follows the process from the bottom up, as a new keel, keelson and cross planking are needed to support this massive structure.

A brief look at the many generations of owners in the beginning of the piece finishes in Portsmouth, RI where the engine is being loaded in and shuffled back in place. Work continues on the bow thruster, hull paint as the wiring starts to spread out to future cabins and quarters for the passengers and crew of the Coastal Queen.
