COASTAL QUEEN Restoration Project – Episode 8 – What’s Old Is New Again


Follow along with Peter Slack’s ongoing series about the restoration of COASTAL QUEEN, a Chesapeake Bay Buy Boat built in 1928 and modified in the late 1950s to a cruising yacht. The series follows the process from the bottom up, as a new keel, keelson and cross planking are needed to support this massive structure.

The monumental task of hanging the Coastal Queen while sourcing the largest White Oak timber in the nation has finally paid off. Months of planning and hard work has shaped the backbone to this legendary cruiser and made way for the new cross planking.
