    Where did they get the plans and the molds? I’d like to build one, but don’t see any source for the plans…

      Hi Jeff,

      Maynard Bray suggests you could try Mystic Seaport, which still sells the drawings for NETTLE – their own 12-1/2 Herreshoff. There are two sheets with lines, construction, and sail plan. The order number is 63.595. Good luck!

    In my country we just bend the wood by using a large gas blow torch…the wood is constantly wetted in the process and the frames/ planks are heated and then bent in an instant…it only takes a few minutes…you will get burnt marks on the wood but those are then sanded off…

    The fidelity of the music is too good for what sounds like Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli. Their recordings are 75 or 80 years old. I wonder who is playing guitar and who is playing violin. Perfect music for a video about a 12 1/2. It’s age-appropriate.
