If you need to practice handling a small boat in rough conditions maybe a trip up these rapids would help you refine your skills?

Wow!!! That trip might refine your skills, but it certainly tests your nerve!
Makes me think of Glen Wooldridge who was a pioneer of running such rapids, starting with the Rogue River in southern Oregon. He lived in Grants Pass, Oregon, where I grew up, and my dad bought plans for a wooden sled boat from Glen. My dad and I built a boat from those plans in the early 1970’s and I still have it and my son uses it. His family operates Wooldridge Boats in Washington state. Their website has a great historical timeline starting in 1915.
Awesome video. Thank you for this.
