A few years back, my brother asked if I’d join him to meet a guy who had just finished a small boat adventure. We met up with Robert Youens at Sirens Pub in Port Townsend, hours after he’d finished going up and down the Inside Passage in a 16-foot Jon Boat. Solo. In less than 2 weeks.
At that point, Robert’s Jon Boat adventures were flying under the radar – Coop was the only person who had reached out to him at the end of his Facebook-documented journey. Last year, Robert “went viral,” gaining millions of fans around the country as he attempted the Great Loop record, again in a Jon Boat.
Robert is presenting at this year’s Worldwide Classic Boat Show on Saturday, February 21st, at 9am PST/12pm EST – we hope to see you there!
