Warching a video like this brings home the complexities of sailing a true Viking Dragon Ship. I was amazed at the weight of the sail and the man power it took to do a simple tack. This was truly an adventure duplicating the skills and resourcefulness of our forefathers .

Thank you for this most fantastic addition. I have a growing admiration for the Viking’s maritime traditions since a visit to Norway several years ago. My hats off to the builders, the courageous crew, the artist and OCH for capturing this. Interestingly, my hometown and the Port of Poulsbo, WA on Liberty Bay has just welcomed the newly launched Viking ship, Valkyrie after a seven-year build in Anacortes. She is the largest Coast Guard-approved Viking ship in the U.S. and will be welcoming passengers in the near future. Poulsbo’s Norwegian history is very much on display and its moniker, “Little Norway” seems an ideal fit for what I sure will become an iconic addition to the surrounding area. Thinking that Draken and Valkyrie could meet up in the Pacific NW is beyond exciting.

Terrific Video. Fascinating. Wonder if Draken is still at Mystic?
