Your Brain, Boat & Nature

You already know that being on your boat out in nature feels good, right?

But did you know that being on your boat in nature, or even a short walk in nature, can improve your attention span by 20 percent?

For the first time in the history of the human race, it has been scientifically proven that being in nature causes significant benefits to the brain and body.

We discovered this NPR interview with the pioneer of environmental neuroscience, Marc Berman. He’s out with a new book all about the science behind the benefits spending time outside titled “Nature and the Mind.”

It’s a fascinating listen, and let us know what you think in the comments section below…

One Response So Far to “Your Brain, Boat & Nature

  • Julian Kuffler says:

Thanks for sharing the article. I agree that being outside on land or the water helps me be so much more centered on what is present in the here and now. It also helps letting go of the nattering in my mind that is tends to dwell in the past or future. It is refreshing to being part of nature or the motion of a well sailed boat.
