I did buy the plans of AROHA, as i did like the boats design. Looking at them and the videos i liked the possible performance, but i did not like the missing bulkhead at the aft end of the cabin and the limited space at the steering position. Therefore i decided to enlarge the design.

After some work i have now at larger version, 12 m long, 2,7 m beam. A cabin with a double berth, two benches, separated washroom, larger steering position with outside galley at portside. Engine now a 120 hp 6 cyl. Mercedes Benz diesel. The boat is under construction at the company Boat-Workshop Gmbh here in Peenemuende, in the far northeast of Germany.

To myself, i am 61 years old, mastercraftsman of boatbuilding since 1987, steel shipbuilder, specialised in tallship rigging designs and building, like Gorch Fock, Sea Cloud II, BIMA Suci and others

This is a much improved plan from the original. It makes the boat more usable where the original plan is more of an art work piece.

Hello Detlev

I am curious, back in 2021 you stated that your enlarged design for Aroha was being built.

Has the boat been completed? Are you able to share with us any pictures of the build efforts and the finished boat?
