      The upper guard is easy. I did round over the lower outside corner. I don’t like sharp edges.  Lousy to hold paint or varnish.

      I made up spacer blocks to align the lower guard and hold it in place while slathered in thickened epoxy. They worked great! Both the port and starboard views are identical.

       

      Clamps, clamps and more clamps  I found the 8” deep throat clamps very handy to “reach” up to the lower guard.

       

      After routing and sanding the lower guard (before installation) I found it ending up a little on the small side. I wish it was a bit bigger  but not enough to machine out new pieces.
