I had some beautiful Maple that came from a picnic table that my parents used as a kitchen table. I don’t believe the table top was much more than 36”x48” but somehow six of us sat for meals.

I laminated two pieces to achieve a 1 1/2” thickness. The length is about 8”. Having a tabletop bandsaw, oscillating tabletop belt sander, tabletop tablesaw, and a variety of hand power tools – and of course a couple of nice planes  made quick work cutting and shaping the compound angles. Rounded over the exposed edges.

Nice tight fit all around. Will screw and epoxy in place.
