      With credit going to Bib Donaldson for a far more elegant solution, I came up with my own wacky spar holder. Home Depot fat pencils stick up into hole drilled in spar. Holds spar up off flat surface 4-5 inches. Pencils held vertical with bench vise and or wooden clamps. Made varnishing very easy
