I wanted to continue the painting efforts today, but the weather has been rather dismal. Hot at times, very humid, rain every few hours, sometimes with some wind other times none. So, I thought I would work on the wooden hand made bits and pieces for the spars and mast. My efforts on making two cleats have been dismal. The guides and hooks have gone much better.

Then I got working on the rudder gudgeons and pintles. The lower  Pintle needed to be shortened, it was easy on the band saw. Remind things like center lines- you need them again to get the pieces nice and plum hanging off the stern of the boat. I ordered some bronze bolts for the gudgeons. There will be some delicate fitting work getting the gudgeons nicely laid in position.

Using screen material for pieces to dry on. I just threw all the pieces into a can of varnish and then fished them out and laid them on the screen. It worked well with epoxy, I do,expect the varnish will stick more to the screen.
