Plans are in the works to trailer the boat up to Mystic, CT and display her at the Wooden Boat Show.  I have come up with a way to secure the mast, spars and oars. The idea I have is the mast will serve as a ride pole for a canvas tarp, covering the boat while on the highways. Time will tell if it will work.

Idea taking shape cross guide rails,to keep the ratchet strap, from slipping of the cross pieces.

Vertical pieces to get holes for mast and spars.

still clamping and gluing things together

The cross pieces, and the ratchet straps serve to secure the boat to the cart below and to hold down the oars as they sit in their dedicated holders. I have subsequently covered the mating surfaces with left over trailer bunk rail covering, a very soft carpet like material  I will then cover it all with a tarp and the mast sits about the bow and stern so will keep tarp up at an angle to shed rain water.
