Fascinating, for sure. Enjoyed all of it, but most of all I was “hooked” by the brisk breeze and amazing pace of STORM BAY in the opening few minutes. Let’s have more of that — with the flawless production values OCH brings to all of your wonderful “on the water” videos.

“We fish for the well, we eat out of the well”. I’m all of a sudden very hungry. Crayfish, indeed.

… and which was in fact restored by the same guy, the skipper of Storm Bay, Tim Phillips.
I had a quick tour of the Jane Kerr at the Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart and she is indeed a lovely craft, crewed by a great bunch of people.
I grew up not far from Tim’s yard in Sorrento, Victoria, and took all the wooden fishing boats moored along the bay for granted – it’s only recently, in a world of mass-produced plastic everything, that I’ve come to really appreciate the beauty of wooden boats, and to be inspired by the people that restore and sail them

My subscription is paid for! What an awesome video. At first I thought they are doing a lot of work for crayfish. Until I saw them. Those are lobsters! Huge!

Marvelous, in every respect. So much better than the standard narrated walk-through. I sincerely hope that OCH will consider doing a similar video on the handsome vessel Jane Kerr, which shown several times. Looks like a marvelous boat.

Ah, yes. Life is certainly good on this little chunk of rock and water. Thanks, OCH, for reminding me how sweet it is. I am so glad to be among your subscribers!

Good job crew, nice to see Andy Haldane and Gary on the Jane Kerr.
Are you familiar with Andy’s boat the Clare Allan? Which he built over 11 years, then put it up on the rocks on Thisle island South Australia retrieving it with the family prawn boat then rebuilt it again. But that’s another story.
    Love your work.

I just finished reading a 250-page book about “taste” (The Accidental Connoisseur, Lawrence Osborne, good read). Your 20-minute video defines what it means to “taste” life to the full—or at least to the bottom of the wet well. A boat that works, whose beauty consists in that. People who’ve figured out not just how to sail but how to live.

Patrick – -My sentiments, exactly! These guys are living too well indeed. This film has done its best to get the steam up under those ribs- to be bent in, so I can do the same.
Film more like this experience, and the inspiration to push the launch of White Wing will be realized.

A great insight into cruising from another part of the world. I miss more video of sailing to all the wonderful spots. How people handle this large boat with as much skill as getting food to eat. Thanks for a wonderful video for all of us as we prepare for our upcoming sailing season.

despite my sea sickness, this makes me want to be a boat so much! some people are destined to exist, some people are destined to live. great video, thanks !

The Storm Bay video awakens in our hearts what living means. Good friends, a great boat, and an ocean upon which both can be shared. Living off the sea’s bounty. As I get home from another trip, read email, and prepare for a week’s worth of meetings only so that I can make it to Saturday so that I can work on Valkyrie. Replace a few parts, sand off old varnish, get prepare her for a great summer. The Storm Bay video will be a guide for me to remember the importance and priorities of being on the water and experiencing the sea. Thanks OCH.

Did I see the captain of S/V Holger Danske partaking of the fresh crayfish? What lottery do I have to win/who do I have to marry, bury or buy to be able to do this? It’s obviously hard work, but it certainly keeps these chaps in good enough shape. Not sure I should watch these on Sunday evenings. Not exactly inspiring for work tomorrow. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Love the Tassie scene. Will forward this video to my sailing friends here at the shores of Lake Cootharaba where we often share meals on the boat but missing out on the crays here and we don’t do beanies – rather straw hats.
