I just ordered a boat dolly from Amazon. It will be delivered tomorow – hope it does what I need it to do. I want to be able to store it on land next to a small lake in my neighborhood and be able to launch it by myself. We’ll see how it goes. Check out my blog http://www.tomsboat.com.

Just read this post in detail; it was very helpful to me. I’m just at this stage, flipped the boat yesterday and will start on the interior tomorrow. Thanks for doing this.

Thanks Bob I’m just now at this point in the process. Reading your post, I now plan to fair the hull and do a lot more sanding before I prime. Here’s where I am as of today, 6/1/21:

Greetings, John. I’m also building an Oonagh here in Kent, Ohio. I have family in Hamilton and  was there last March –  flew home just as the world shut down. I hope to visit again later this year and will look you up if I can. Love to see what you’ve done with your Oonagh.

Second coat of filled epoxy done. Again I used the pour and scrape method and was able to apply a nice even thin coat. I used the roller at this step to smooth out ridges left by the scraper.

I found it easier to pour the epoxy and spreading it with a scraper rather than using the roller. This technique also meant I used less epoxy. I’ve only done the first coat as of today. I’ll do the second coat with filler tomorrow.

Bob – I’m just about to start this process, but I see you already cut the slot for the centerboard. Is this important to do before I start? Your blog is of great help. Thanks!
